Summer Program Activities
Cultural Activities
Students have many opportunities to experience American culture
while they are at Lakeland College. Each weekend, students
go on sightseeing trips. Destinations vary from year to year,
but they generally include trips to popular destinations like
Chicago. Other possibilities include museums, zoos, the state
capitol, outlet malls, state parks, professional sports events
and Great America, a well-known amusement park. In addition,
students have an opportunity to stay overnight with an American
family to learn about typical family customs.
During their summer at Lakeland, Bridge
students spend important time doing homework and studying,
but they also participate in optional weeknight activities.
These activities include volleyball, soccer, basketball, and
Frisbee. They also include videos, card games, Pub Nights
with pool and ping-pong, and special (sometimes spontaneous)
activities like water balloon fights and Korean cooking
nights.
