Position: Associate Professor of Literature and Writing, Chair of the Humanities Division, and Coordinator for the Honors Program.

Educational Philosophy: I firmly believe that one learns by doing. Thus, students are active learners in my classes, whether by working in peer editing groups, by giving presentations on literature, or by simply participating in the work of the day. My goal is to make the classroom a safe, stimulating environment where all voices are welcomed as we work together to a better understanding of the material at hand.

Courses taught: Introduction to Literature, Survey of British Literature II, British Literature - The Victorian Period, Twentieth Century British Literature, Senior Seminar, Expository Writing, Persuasive Writing, Core I, Core II: Gender Studies

Family: Husband, Michael Ammons; Daughter, Julia; Son, Joshua.

Professional Achievements: I have published articles and book reviews in Narrative, Novel: A Forum on Fiction, Women's Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal, and Virginia Woolf Miscellany. I have presented my research at conferences around the country, including the annual conventions of the Modern Language Association, the Modernist Studies Association, the Midwest Modern Language Association, the International Virginia Woolf Society, and the National Writing Centers Association; I have also presented at the International Conference on the Study of Narrative, the Twentieth-Century Literature Conference, and the Marquette University Women's Studies Conference.

Community Involvement: Volunteer for the Family Resource Centers of Sheboygan County
