Martha Schott

Education: B.A., English, Lawrence University
M.A., Mass Communications, Marquette University
First year at Lakeland: 1993
Educational Philosophy: I believe that learning can be exciting if approached in varied and relevant ways. Often it's the hands-on experience that is effective, particularly in the areas of writing and publishing. A finished piece of writing, shared with others through publication, is a tremendous stimulus for future writing. A small college can provide the right mix for personal, meaningful learning - nurturing teachers and mentors, opportunities for leadership and scholarship, and high expectations.
