Elizabeth Stroot, Social Sciences Division Chair, is the architect of Lakeland's psychology program. Since her arrival at Lakeland in 1999, psychology has grown into one of the college's most popular majors thanks to her efforts. Dr. Stroot led an update of the major's curriculum, and has created coursework which has graduates earning entry into graduate school programs. She has been a leader on Lakeland's advising committee and the college's Psychology Club, and she led the creation of Lakeland's institutional review board, a college committee that reviews and approves research proposals. Her students regularly work with her to create and deliver presentations at psychology conferences throughout the Midwest.
