Karl Elder

Karl Elder
Karl Elder's classrooms are a dynamic and inspiring place for learning. A member of Lakeland's faculty since 1979, Karl's award-winning approach has been affectionately described by former students as "unorthodox," "challenging," and "wildly humorous." His writing has earned numerous regional and national awards, and he has given readings of his work throughout the country. He coordinates the Great Lakes Writers Festival, Lakeland's annual workshop for seasoned and emerging writers. Karl and his two sons are Eagle Scouts; both of his sons serve as executives for the Boy Scouts of America.
