A. They vary in length from a half day to three days. Most of them are 1 - 2 days, however, we can customize the amount of time spent on specific topics and skills to fit the needs of our clients.
A: Course offering times are adjusted to whatever works best for our clients Scheduling can be adapted for multiple full-day, half-day, evening and weekend sessions.
A: We work with employers to design customized learning and performance development solutions that can be delivered at one of Lakeland College's Adult Education Centers or at a site of your choosing.
A: For the most part there are no prerequisites. However some of the courses are designed to be taken in a sequential order. There are also specific requirements for taking the PHR/SPHR, CPA, CMA and CPM/APP certification exams.
A: The costs vary depending on the content and length of the course as well as single vs multiple offerings.
A: No. All courses and workshops are non-credit. CEUs can be offered for successful completion of a series of courses or workshops focused on a particular specialty area.
A: Most of the courses use the traditional instructor-led classroom delivery method. Currently only a few of them are available online. However, several of the courses do use online delivery for pre-work, post-work and informational reading assignments.
A: Our instructional staff resources include adjunct faculty from our Kellett School of Adult Education, some full-time Lakeland College faculty and staff, and several well-respected management consultants from a wide spectrum of professions. All instructors and facilitators combine a high level of expertise in their respective fields with practical experience in business and industry.
A: Yes. We offer the 12 week SHRM Learning System College Program which prepares human resource professionals for the national PHR/SPHR Certification Exam. We also offer the 2-day SHRM Essentials of HR management Certificate Program for supervisors, entry-level HR professionals and office manager with HR responsibilities. We also offer the ASTD HPI Certificate Program which is a 5-course series of workshops for corporate training and organizational development professionals. We also offer a CPA Prep Course and CMA prep course for accountants who are interested in taking the CPA Exam and CMA exam. Additionally, we offer the CPM Prep Review Program for purchasing professionals who are interested in taking the CPM and/or APP Certification Exam.
