Homecoming 2014

Save the date for 2014 Homecoming, Oct. 3-5, 2014.

Remember all the good times at Lakeland College? The memories that never fade? Well, here’s a friendly invitation to reunite with your Lakeland family. New memories are waiting to be created.

Once you get here, we’ll supply a fun, inviting environment, with plenty to do. From Friday morning until Sunday afternoon, we’ve put together a jam-packed schedule of fun events … including the return of the Homecoming run! Enjoy a timed run on our newly created cross country trail through the Grether Woods. Of course there’s a football game to win on Saturday afternoon!

You’ve graduated and are succeeding. We’re proud of you, and we want to hear all about your life. But we also just want to see you again.

Come on back for Homecoming 2014. Your Lakeland friends and family will be waiting for you, ready to help create those new memories.

Class of 1964 Luncheon and Emeritus Club Induction.
All Emeritus Club members, those who graduated in or before 1964, are invited to the luncheon. The class of 1964 will be officially recognized for its 50th reunion and inducted into the Emeritus Club. $20 per person. Reservations required.

Campus Pub Open.

Alumni Awards Celebration.
Cocktails, food stations and presentation recognizing reunion classes and alumni achievements. The following will be recongnized:Dave Aldag '83 and Carroll & Marilyn Olm '46 '47, Service to the College Award; José L. Araujo '05 MBA '09, Outstanding Recent Alumni Award; Kathleen Rath Marr '76, The President's Richard C. Preuhs '65 Award; Keith & Carol Striggow, Honorary Alumni Award; Daniel J. Verbanac '98, Professional Achievement Award. $25 per person. Reservations required.

Help us celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Lakeland College Mr. Muskie tradition! Filled with laughs and Muskie spirit, this pageant spoof has become a campus favorite. We are welcoming back all former Mr. Muskies from 1989 – 2013 and hope to see many alumni in the audience!

Homecoming Fellowship & Worship Service
Fellowship and refreshments followed by the worship service at 9 a.m. The service is casual, so come as you are – everyone is welcome!

10 a.m.
Fish Out of Water 5K Trail Run.
You asked for it and we listened… the Homecoming run is back! Enjoy a timed run on the college’s newly created cross country trail through the Grether Woods. Participants receive a performance running shirt if registered by Sept. 10. Runners will also receive lunch at the Homecoming tailgate and admission to the football game. Registration open at 9 a.m. Run begins at 10 a.m.

Alumni Men's Basketball Game.
Join men's basketball alumni for some friendly competition. Registration preferred to play, none needed to watch the game. For questions, contact Coach Aaron Aanonsen at 920-565-1445 or

10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Homecoming Tailgate.
Enjoy lunch of brats, hamburgers, chicken, veggie burgers, sides and dessert; live music from 10:30 - Noon by Water Street Hot Shots followed by the Lakeland College pep band, cheerleaders and dance team. $8 per person includes football game ticket. Advanced registration preferred.

Share memories and catch up with classmates. Members of the Class of 1972, '73 and '75 are also welcome. The band “Pageant” featuring Lakeland alumni Tim Krueger '74, Charlie Tiede '75 and Barbara Williams '75, will be playing. Complimentary snacks and cash bar.

Hall of Fame Reception & Induction Ceremony.
Four people will be inducted into the Lakeland College Athletic Hall of Fame: Leslie (Jerks) Laster '98 MAC '10, volleyball, basketball; Dominic Schanen '99, wrestling; Cory Nickel '04, men's basketball; and Jane Bouche, softball, basketball coach. $25 per adult and $10 child under 12. Reservations required.
