The NCAA Foundation, along with the Division IA Athletic Directors' Association, has developed a life skills program for student-athletes to help them bridge the gap from college to career and in the process make meaningful contributions to their communities.
CHAMPS/Life Skills is intended to enhance the quality of the student-athlete experience within the college setting. The program provides the student-athlete with the necessary tools to succeed in his or her sport and other aspects of life such as in the classroom, the community and the workplace. Through several areas including service projects and social events, the program will enhance the student-athlete experience within the college setting, and, more importantly, bring Lakeland College student-athletes information that will prepare them for life after graduation.

toward intellectual development and graduation.
Here at Lakeland College, student-athletes are exactly that…STUDENTS first, then athletes. Classes and school work will take precedence over practices and games.
Lakeland College is committed to Academic Excellence. Whether it is team study halls or meeting with a free tutor in the academic resource center, Lakeland’s staff, faculty, and administration are here to assist your development as a student-athlete.

athletics programs that are broad-based, equitable and
dedicated to the well-being of the student-athlete.
The Muskies have a long history of athletic excellence and continue to provide the very best in competition and winning ways. Yet the experience at Lakeland College as a student-athlete extends far beyond the fields and courts of competition. We promote Athletic Excellence through teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play, and character development is as important as athletic development.
Coaches at Lakeland dedicate themselves to their student-athletes’ athletic and personal growth throughout their collegiate experience. In our athletic department, every day is a great day to be a Muskie!
