Baseball Nabs Conference Win Over First Place Dominican

Kris Saiberlich gave up one earned run over eight innings to get the win as the Lakeland baseball team grabbed a 6-3 victory over the Lake Michigan Conference leading Dominican Stars on Friday afternoon.
In just his second start of the season, Saiberlich scattered 10 hits while fanning three batters and walking three.
The game was tied at one until the Muskies broke through with a two-out, four run rally in the bottom of the fourth that included four consecutive RBI hits from Mitch Heinemeyer, Matt Ambriz, Brett Nelson and Matt Andrews.
Heinemeyer finished the game with two doubles to up his conference leading total to 12.
Dan Rhodes pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his third save of the season.
Lakeland will look to continue to sneak back into contention in the LMC as they host a doubleheader against Maranatha on Saturday at noon.
