A record-setting performance helped Lakeland College junior goaltender Alli Weiss earned Lake Michigan Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors.
Weiss recorded shutouts against Mount Mary College and Maranatha Baptist in her two games this week. The New Berlin native notched ten saves in a 6-0 win over Mount Mary College, and six saves in a 2-0 victory over Maranatha Baptist Bible College. The shutout against Maranatha gave her a total of 16 for her career, setting a new Lakeland record. The record of 15.5 was held by Kristy Rosenthal (2002). Weiss has recorded five shutouts on the year.
Lakeland (4-3-1; 1-0 LMC) will travel to Edgewood Tuesday for a 7 p.m. LMC match.
