The Lakeland College men's soccer team had seven players receive honors as the Lake Michigan Conference announced its All-LMC awards.
Senior Ryan Holl (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth High School) and junior Scott Kress (Kiel/Kiel) were named first team All-LMC.
Holl, who was also named first team All-LMC last season, served as team captain this season and was one of the most reliable players for the Muskies on defense.
This is the third first team All-LMC appearance for Kress, who also earned LMC Rookie of the Year honors his freshman year. Kress was tied for second on the team in goals with five and led the team in both shots (47) and shots on goal (23).
Earning honorable mention honors for the Muskies was senior Joe Silverberg (South Bend, Ind./Clay), junior Landing Sonko (Banjul, Gambia/Banjul), sophomore Zach Buchman (Waterford/Waterford) and freshman Ted Cormier (Green Bay/Preble).
Silverberg tied his previous record in single season shutouts with five this season. The goaltender also holds the Lakeland career record for shutouts with 13.
Sonko started in 16 of the 17 games that the Muskies played. The defender also played an integral role on the defensive end for the Muskies.
Buchman was named to the All-Rookie team last season. This season the midfielder/forward tallied five goals and one assist for Lakeland.
Freshman Ted Cormier netted six goals, including two game winners, and added an assist to his distinguished rookie campaign. Cormier was also named to the LMC All-Rookie team.
Joining Cormier on the All-Rookie team is freshman Kevin Fitchett (Green Bay/Preble). The Green Bay native contributed three goals and three assists for the Muskies this season.
The Muskies finished third in the LMC this season with a 3-1-3 record. They also advanced to the LMC Tournament Semifinals before being defeated 2-0 by tournament champion Edgewood.
