Catch This - Wrestling and Women's Basketball Highlight Weeks Action
Athletics - posted on 12/5/2005
As Lakeland's students prepare for final exams, the wrestling and women's basketball teams are also preparing for action at the Todd Wehr Center.
The Muskies wrestling program is off to one of its best starts in recent memory, and will be participating in their first LMC dual of the season when they take on Maranatha Baptist at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Muskies will also wrestle Northland Baptist Tuesday evening. While the Muskies are off to a 2-3 start, victories over two state schools and a second-place finish at the MSOE Invite this past weekend leave plenty of reason for the Muskies to be excited about the remainder of this season. Sophomore Calvin O'Neal is currently 9-0 and has gone up against some of the best talent in the country, while freshmen twins Chris and Casey Klister have continued their high school success on the collegiate mat this year.
The women's basketball team hosts Alverno in an LMC match-up on Wednesday with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. The women are coming off an impressive stretch themselves, winning three of their last four games, including a 65-63 victory over #16 Buena Vista and a 46-41 road win over LMC preseason favorite Edgewood in Madison.
