Sara Langenhorst led the Muskies with 30 points and three rebounds as Lakeland downed Alverno College in the regular season finally, 84-59.
The Muskies came out hot, shooting a blistering 69 percent from the floor in the first half, dooming the Alverno Inferno from the tip. In the second half, nothing the Inferno could do to cool down the Muskies, who shot 50 percent from the floor.
Renee Steinert chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds while Brenda Paulson added 12 points, shooting 100 percent from the floor and free-throw line.
With the win, the Muskies capture second place in the LMC, behind Edgewood College of Madison. With the second place finish, the Muskies will host an opening round tournament game against the #7 seed, Milwaukee School of Engineering.
The Muskies, who defeated MSOE twice during the regular season, will take on the Raiders at the Todd Wehr Center at Lakeland College on Friday night at 7pm.
