Muskies Drop Pair To Stevens Point

The Lakeland baseball team dropped two games Wednesday to UW-Steven's Point, 15-5 and 15-9, respectively.
Junior Mitch Heinemeyer did well in the first game, going 3 for 4, including two runs.
Freshman Matt Ambriz also contributed, finishing 2 for 3 with one RBI.
In the second game, the Muskies jumped out to an early 6-1 lead, with runs in the third and fourth innings.
Heinemeyer and Ambriz were again solid at the plate. Heinemeyer finished 2 for 5 with 2 runs, and Ambriz went 3 for 4 with two runs. Freshman Adam Brown also contributed 3 RBIs with a home run in the sixth.
In game one, junior Brett Nelson took the loss, giving up three earned runs in the fourth inning without getting an out. In game two, freshman Jake Van Camp received the loss, giving up seven earned runs off six hits.
The Muskies resume conference play Thursday, April 13, at Maranatha in Watertown. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
