Lakeland College senior Monica Hetzel, a utility player from Hancock, Wis., has been named softball Player of the Week by the Lake Michigan Conference.
In six games last week, Hetzel went 8-for-18 for a .444 batting average with two runs batted in, four runs scored, and her first career home run, a solo shot against Edgewood on April 10.
Lakeland (8-16, 3-3 LMC) will be at home on Thursday, April 20, to face Wisconsin Lutheran for an LMC battle scheduled for 3 p.m.
