Muskies Rout Dominican

The Lakeland women's softball team racked up 30 runs against Dominican University on Wednesday, sweeping the doubleheader 12-4 and 18-10.
In game one, sophomore Kourtney Peters went 2-for-3 with three RBI's and sophomore Rebecca Schuettpelz went 2-for-3 with four RBI's, aiding in the 12-4 rout.
Sophomore pitcher Rachel Griesbach gave up just four hits in five innings of work and struck out six in the complete game win.
Game two saw the Muskies jump out to a 3-1 lead before pouring on the runs in the top of the fourth, scoring seven runs. In the top of the sixth inning, the Muskies added six runs to their lead, jumping ahead 17-10. The Muskies added one run in the top of the seventh to make the final 18-10.
Sophomore Elisa Waltz went 5-for-5 in game two, batting in four runs. Senior Monica Hetzel was 6-for-6 with five RBI's.
Griesbach took the win in the second game as well, moving to 11-3 on the season.
The Muskies (15-17, 10-4 LMC) will travel to St. Norbert on Thursday, April 27 for a doubleheader against the Knights. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
