Muskies Win Thriller in Double Overtime over Concordia

Lakeland outscored preseason conference favorite Concordia 13-4 in the second overtime to post a big 83-74 victory Monday night in Mequon.
Lakeland made 11 of its 14 free throws in the two overtime periods to help steal the win. The Muskies improve to 5-7 overall and pick up their first LMC victory after two league losses. This was the sixth straight loss for Concordia and their first loss in the LMC
Freshman Kris Saiberlich finished with a season high 33 points including 7 of 12 shooting from three-point range. Junior Germayne James added 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals while senior Ryan Hiir scored 11 points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds.
Concordia senior Ryan Wietor, the LMC preseason player of the year, scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Falcons. It was the first game back for Wietor who recently suffered a separated shoulder and had missed several games.
Lakeland and Concordia play again on Saturday at 3:15 at Lakeland College as part of a double header with the women’s teams.
