Muskies escape Crusader upset bid

Kris Saiberlich hit 7 of 13 three pointers and finished with 25 points to lead the Lakeland men’s basketball team to a 77-70 victory over Maranatha Baptist on Thursday night.
Nick Zeck scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Lakeland to record his sixth double-double of the season. He also tallied six assists.
Jim Bonner poured in a game-high 26 points, and James Solarek added 22 for the Crusaders.
Maranatha cut the lead to one point with 4:45 left to play, but Saiberlich drained a three pointer to regain momentum and seal the game.
With the win, Lakeland improved its conference record to 3-4 and its overall record to 7-10. Their next game is Saturday at home against Dominican at 3:00 p.m.
