The Lakeland wrestling team improved their dual meet record to 8-8 in action at UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday night. The Muskies went 1-1 falling to UW-Whitewater, 27-12, and then came back to defeat Harper College 25-21.
Freshman Jake Frias (149), junior Calvin O'Neal (174), junior Paul Hartt (184) and senior Mark Vanden Hoogen (285) all went 2-0 for the night, while sophomore David Copp went 1-1.
In the 149 division, Frias took down UW-Whitewater's Gary Reid, 7-4, and then defeated Harper College's Craig Johnson, 11-3. Frias is now 12-9 for the season.
O'Neal defeated UW-Whitewater's Adam Latella, 6-2, in the 174 division and received a win by forfeit against Harper College.
Hartt improved to 18-1 for the season with two victories in the 184 division. The junior defeated UW-Whitewater's Karl Voeck, 11-7, and pinned Harper College's Alex Knipp 6:35 into the match.
In 285 action, Vanden Hoogen improved to 14-3 defeating UW-Whitewater's Derrik Johnson, 6-2, and Harper's Steve Szymzcak, 3-2.
Copp was pinned by UW-Whitewater's Jeremy Johnson his opening match of 125 action before winning by forfeit to Harper College.
The Muskies will return to action at Lawrence University on Friday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. in Appleton.
