Concordia-Wisconsin Selected as Preseason Favorite in Women's Tennis

VERONA, Wis. -- The Lakeland College women's tennis team was slated to finish ninth between Aurora and Rockford, according to the NAC preseason coaches' poll.

The Concordia University-Wisconsin women's tennis team was selected to win the conference championship. Wisconsin Lutheran College was selected to finish second, while Edgewood College was tabbed for the No. 3 slot.

The Falcons are coming off a 9-1 season, where they won the conference championship of the former Lake Michigan Conference. CUW went 6-0 in LMC regular season duals, and won three of the six singles events at the championship.

Wisconsin Lutheran finished last season with a 7-3 record, and their sole loss in LMC regular season duals was to Concordia-Wisconsin.

Edgewood finished the 2005 campaign with a 5-8 record, but finished strong in the postseason, taking third at the LMC championship, just a half-point behind second place WLC.
