Lakeland Finished Third at MSOE Invite

Lakeland College traveled to MSOE in Milwaukee this weekend, participating in the MSOE Invitational. The Muskies finished in third place behind Olivet College and MSOE.
Individually for the Muskies, Lee Sparks finished in first place for the #197 weight class, defeating Ahmad Zeaiter of Olivet College in the championship dual. Sparks went 2-0 for the tournament.
Three Muskie wrestlers finished in 2nd place, Gilbert Soto, Mark Vandenhoogen, and Tim Vallier. Soto finished with a 2-1 record in the #157 class, falling to Olivet’s Mike Daubenmeyer in the championship dual 8-2. VandenHoogen went 2-1 on the day in the #285 class, falling to J. Rutledge of Knox College in the championship dual. Vallier went 2-1 also, falling to Joe Fields of MSOE in the championship dual of the #174 weight class.
The Muskies will return to action next week Wednesday, December 15th, when they host UW-Stevens Point at the Todd Wehr center. Match time is set for 6pm.
