The Lakeland College men's basketball team earned one first-place vote and was picked third in the preseason Lake Michigan Conference coaches poll.
The announcement was part of LMC Basketball Media Day, held at Milwaukee School of Engineering's new Kern Center.
The Muskies are picked behind preseason favorite and defending champion Concordia (which had seven first-place votes) and Edgewood.
Lakeland seniors Ryan Hiir (Greenfield) and Nick Zeck (West Allis) were both picked preseason all-LMC. Concordia's Ryan Wietor was preseason Player of the Year.
Rounding out the men's poll was Wisconsin Lutheran in fourth, Marian, MSOE and Maranatha Baptist.
"One thing I gained from last year was that we have to have a lot of depth and play a lot of guys," Lakeland head coach Gary Grzesk said. "That's one thing we concentrated on in recruiting. We hope to play up to 10 guys this season that can help us."
