The Lakeland College men's volleyball team (3-0, 3-0 WVC) remained undefeated with its third straight Wisconsin Volleyball Conference victory in match action with UW-Stout on Sunday, Jan. 28, in Lakeland's Moose and Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies made short work of the visiting Blue Devils, ending the match in three games, 30-20, 30-18 and 30-19. The squad also hit nearly 40 percent as a team and racked up 40 digs for the match.

"I'm glad to see Stout as new members of the conference," said head coach Chad Schreiber of the Blue Devils, who are in their inaugural year in the WVC. "We are ahead of them right now in talent, but they play hard."

The Muskies' underclassmen saw their opportunity to shine in this match, as junior middle hitter Tim Frillman led the squad in kills with nine and sophomore setter Matt Clemens contributed 43 assists and seven digs. Senior outside hitter Matt Martin and junior right side Andrew Lietz also contributed on offense with eight and seven kills respectively. Martin and Lietz were also proved themselves deadly servers, as Martin racked up four aces and Lietz tallied two.

Lakeland will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Badger Bump-A-Round in Madison, Wis. Game time TBA.
