Men's Volleyball Ranked No. 5 in the Nation

Athletics - posted on 2/1/2007

The Lakeland College men's volleyball team is No. 5 in the season's first NIRSA Division I Top 25 poll, released on Tuesday, Feb. 1.

"A first ranking means nothing," said head coach Chad Schreiber. "You have to compete hard all year and lots of teams are looking to achieve the same goals. It's the final ranking that counts."

The Muskies are one of three teams from the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference to be ranked, as UW-Oshkosh was ranked No. 1 and Marquette was slated 16th.

Lakeland is off to a solid start in the WVC this season with a 3-0 record, garnering wins over UW-Whitewater, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout last week. The squad will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Badger Bump-A-Round in Madison, Wis.
