The Northern Athletics Conference office has announced that the inaugural NAC Baseball Tournament will be held at RiverHawks Stadium in Rockford, Ill., on May 11-12.
"This is an outstanding venue for the NAC and our student-athletes," said Dr. G Steven Larson, NAC Commissioner. "The RiverHawks Stadium is state-of-the-art. It opened just last May. It seats over 3,000 (fixed seats) with more than ample parking. It also includes a state-of-the-art sound system and scoreboard with full video capabilities.
"We are very excited about hosting the first NAC Baseball Tournament at this site. The fans will also appreciate the amenities, hospitality, and central location. The people from the RiverHawks and the city of Rockford have been outstanding in helping us make this happen."
The 2007 NAC Baseball Tournament will be a four-team double-elimination tournament. The top four conference teams will earn spots based on conference play during the regular season.
Four games will be played on Friday, May 11, and up to three games will be played on Saturday, May 12. First pitch will be at 9 a.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Should the weather impact the schedule, Sunday, May 13 is reserved as a rain date for the conference tournament.
Edgewood College will serve as Northern Athletics Conference host institution for the 2007 tournament.
