Annie Morgan has been named graduate assistant coach with the Lakeland softball program.
Morgan is a graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., where she earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport and exercise science. She brings four years of championship softball experience to the Muskies' coaching staff highlighted by this past season's 2007 NCAA Division III World Series bid.
"Annie is knowledgeable and likes the strategy side of the game," said Lakeland head softball coach Chad Buchmann. "Her championship experiences will help her make coaching adjustments, as well as help our program reach our goal of making the NCAA tournament."
Morgan was vital member of DePauw's NCAA Central Regional Championship team that ended up finishing fifth overall at the World Series. She was mainly a utility player that specialized in base running.
Off the field, Morgan was involved in the Delta Gamma Sorority, served many leadership roles for InterVarsity programs and coached various levels of travel summer softball teams for four years.
Morgan grew up in west-central Indiana where she is the oldest of three children.
