Lakeland Falls to Concordia, Wis.

Lakeland strived for a victory against Northern Athletics Conference opponent Concordia University, Wis., though it was a loss with a score of 9-0.

In the singles competition, Sakie Matsubara was defeated in her No. 1 match against Concordia's Erin Henrich with scores of 6-0, 6-1. Rae Schreiber played tough in her No. 2 match and lost only 1-0 to Concordia's Mallory Cantrell. Concordia's Renelle Hui beat Deondrea Warren in the No. 3 match with scores of 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 4 match, Mariah Tess lost to Katie Theisen of Concordia with scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Concordia's Emily Buchinger defeated Erika Brown in the No. 5 match with scores of 6-0 in both rounds. Rachel Keinath of Concordia won the No. 6 match by means of a forfeit.

In the doubles competition, Sakie Matsubara and Rae Schreiber played against Concordia's Erin Henrich and Mallory Cantrell, but lost their No. 1 match, 8-0. In the No. 2 match, Katie Theisen and Renelle Hui of Concordia defeated Mariah Tess and Deondrea Warren with a score of 8-0. Emily Buchinger and Rachel Keinath of Concordia won the No. 3 match due to a forfeit from Lakeland.

The Muskies will continue NAC play with Rockford on Sep. 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Rockford, Ill.
