Lakeland Comes Up Short to Marian

The Lakeland women's tennis team played a rough match against Marian, and the result was a score of 7-0.

In the singles competition, Saki Matsubara was defeated in her No. 1 match by Lani Macheel of Marian with a score of 6-0 in both rounds. In the No. 2 match, Marian's Heather Schwark won against Maria Tess with scores of 6-0, 6-1. Erica Brown lost her No. 3 match to Michelle Zwickey of Marian with scores of 6-1, 6-0. In the No. 4 match, Jamie Racquet of Marian won over Jacquelyn Love with a score of 6-0 in both rounds.

In the doubles competition, Saki Matsubara and Maria Tess lost their No. 1 match to Marian's Lani Macheel and Heather Shwark with a score of 8-0. Erica Brown and Jacquelyn Love lost the No. 2 match to Marian's Michelle Zwickey and Jamie Racquet, with a score of 8-0.

The Muskies will continue Northern Athletics Conference play with dual matches against Dominican and Concordia University Chicago on Sep. 22 at 10 a.m. in River Forest, Ill.
