Muskies Split Season Opening Matches at Elmhurst Tourney

The Lakeland College women's volleyball team (1-1) opened 2007 match play on Friday, Aug. 31, splitting its matches with Elmhurst and Coe.
After winning the first two games of their match with Elmhurst, 30-21 and 30-24, the Muskies slipped in the third game, 24-30. However, the squad was able to make a come-back in game four, 31-29 to take the match, 3-1.
The squad's second game of the night would also prove to be a challenge as Lakeland squared off against Coe in a close five-game battle. However, the Muskies were overcome in the fourth and fifth games to go down, 3-2 (30-24, 20-30, 30-25, 26-30, 10-15).
The squad continues match play at the Elmhurst Tournament tomorrow, Sept. 1, with UW-Oshkosh at 10 a.m. and UW-Platteville at 2 p.m.
