Lakeland point guard nabs weekly LMC honor

Lakeland junior Germayne James, a guard from Richmond, Ind., has been named Lake Michigan Conference Player of the Week.
James, a transfer from Ancilla Junior College, averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in helping the Muskies earn a split with LMC preseason favorite Concordia University last week.
James had 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals in Monday's 83-74 double-overtime win at Concordia. He followed that up with scoring a season-high 24 points in a 95-88 loss Saturday to Concordia, where he also had four assists and a pair of steals.
James shared the weekly award with Edgewood junior forward Seth Cooper.
Lakeland has a pair of LMC road games this week at Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday and at Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday.
