White Rewarded with IBFC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Senior wide receiver MacArthur White (Zion, Ill./Zion Benton) garnered Illini-Badger Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors after a stellar performance in action against Concordia University, Wis. last Saturday.
 
This is the third IBFC Player of the Week honor for White this season. He earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors two straight weeks at the beginning of the season.
 
In action against the Falcons, White had a big day, catching nine passes for 127 yards to go with the two TDs. He also White also had an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the contest. Despite his outstanding performance, the Muskies fell to the Falcons, 35-28, in the contest.
 
"Mac is well deserving of the honor," said Lakeland head coach Kevin Doherty. "He has the ability to take over a came at his will. Not only did he play great on offense, but he continued those efforts on special teams."
 
This season alone White leads the Muskies with 38 receptions for 525 yards and six TDs. He is also the Muskies' kickoff return leader with 11 kickoff returns for 376 yards and two TDS.
 
Last season, White was an honorable mention All-Region North honoree, co-IBFC Receiver of the Year and first team all-conference. He was picked No. 1 on the IBFC coaches' Preseason Top 10 Players to Watch list.
 
The Muskies (4-4, 4-1 IBFC) will be in action at home against Concordia University Chicago this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Taylor Field.
