The Lakeland College track and field team will be holding an informational meeting on Monday, Dec. 3, to discuss the upcoming 2008 season. The meeting will be held in the Wehr Center Multipurpose Room at 8 p.m.
Head Coach David Brooks will be on hand to answer the questions of prospective team members, and encourages anyone who has an interest in track to attend the meeting as no previous experience is necessary.
Track events in need of participants include the 100, 200 and 400 meter dash, hurdles, the 800, 1500, 5K and 10K run and the steeplechase. Field events will also be offered, including high jump, long jump and triple jump. Throwing events will also be available for the first time this season, including shot-put and discus.
Last season the Muskies had 15 members on their roster, with both the men's and women's teams finishing as high as fourth place.
"Last season was a great start for the program," Brooks said. "We took several steps in the right direction in terms of developing a successful program, and we would like to continue to create success this year."
