Senior MacArthur White and junior John Wagner were named to the 2007 D3football.com All-North Region third team as the awards were announced on Friday.
White, a wide receiver from Zion, Ill., was a selection for third team offense, while Wagner, a linebacker from Kewaunee, was named to the third team on defense. This marks the second year in a row Wagner has earned the all-region third team honor.
Both White and Wagner were also awarded Illini-Badger Football Conference post-season awards, with White earning the IBFC Outstanding Receiver award while Wagner was named IBFC Outstanding Linebacker.
White, who will become the first Lakeland player in program history to play in the Aztec Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m., led the IBFC in catches and receiving yards per game, and was third in the nation in average kickoff return yards. He was co-Outstanding Receiver last season, and this year broke Lakeland's career receiving yards record.
Wagner led the IBFC in tackles per game and was ranked 10th in the nation on solo tackles per game.
The all-region teams, selected in balloting by North Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 183 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 76 players were chosen.
