Steinert earns d3hoops.com All-Region honors

Lakeland College senior forward Renee Steinert earned another honor this weekend as she was named to d3hoops.com All-Central Region team.
The Howards Grove native and Sheboygan Lutheran High School graduate was named a third team selection, joining 15 other players in the region who earned the honor. Players are nominated for these awards by sports information directors at their school, and all SIDs in the region are given the opportunity to vote.
Steinert, who was also named Lake Michigan Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Year, finished her Lakeland career with 1,145 points, good for sixth all-time in Lakeland history. She is the seventh player in Lakeland women’s basketball history to score more than 1,000 points in a career.
Steinert averaged 15.1 points (fourth in the LMC), 10.1 rebounds (first), 2.9 blocks (first) and 1.9 assists in conference games this season.
