- ABOUT LAKELAND

Three members of the Lakeland College softball team have found their places amongst elite company in the latest round of NCAA Division III National statistics, complied through games as of April 27.
Sophomore center fielder Chelsea Coenen (Wrightstown) and sophomore second baseman KC Blahnik (Gladstone, Mich.) have earned top spots for triples per game, with Coenen in the No. 2 spot and Blahnik tying for 13th. Sophomore pitcher Sara Roberts (Escanaba, Mich.) is ranked 22nd for walks allowed per seven innings.
Coenen is averaging 0.27 triples per game with eight on the season. That total also makes her the Northern Athletics Conference leader in triples this season, and she also ranks sixth in slugging percentage at .634. Coenen has especially shown power at the plate during the Muskies' last six games, recording at least one double or triple in nearly every game with a home run in the squad's final regular season game at Ripon College on Sunday. Blahnik has tallied six triples this year to average 0.19 per game, and is tied for the No. 2 spot in the NAC in that category.
Roberts is averaging less than one walk per game (0.99) with 20 so far this season as the Muskies' primary pitcher. She has appeared in 27 games and racked up 141.0 innings in the circle for a 13-10 overall record.
