The Lakeland College women's volleyball team opened its 2008 slate with a 3-0 win over Wartburg and a 3-1 loss to host Elmhurst at the Elmhurst (Ill.) Tournament.
The Muskies opened up action sweeping the Knights, 25-18, 25-16, 25-11.
In the nightcap, Lakeland led after taking the first set 14-25, but dropped the next three, 25-18, 25-20, 25-14.
The Muskies close out action in Emhurst Saturday afternoon with matches against Centre at 12 p.m. and Carthage at 2 p.m.
