Lakeland men's golf picked eighth by NAC coaches

The Lakeland College men's golf team has been picked to finish eighth in the Northern Athletics Conference this season by the league's coaches in a preseason poll released by the conference Friday.
The Muskies placed seventh at the 2007 NAC Championship at Whistling Straits' Irish Course in Kohler with a two-round score of 350-343 for a total of 693.
Benedictine University, which place second at the conference championship and placed two players on the All-NAC team, has been picked to win the league.
Last year's champion, Milwaukee School of Engineering, has been tabbed second by the coaches.
Lakeland opens its season on Sept. 6 as it will head to the Marian Invite for a two-day tournament. Round one will be played at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Fond du Lac, with the second round to be played at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course in Plymouth.
