Lakeland freshman forward Lindsay Rogers has received the first Northern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week award for women's soccer in the 2008-09 season, the league announced late Tuesday.
Rogers, a Sheboygan native, netted four goals in two games
last weekend to lead the Muskies to a 2-0 start in non-conference play. She scored two in Lakeland's 5-0 shut-out over Northland Baptist on Friday, and notched two more in a 5-2 victory over Philadelphia Biblical University on Saturday.
The award included events played by NAC student-athletes from Friday Aug. 29 to Sunday Aug. 31. Each week, the league's head coaches nominate a player from their own team to be voted on for each sport by NAC sports information directors.
