Lakeland senior Kevin Fitchett has received honorable mention on the Division III NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-North/Central Region team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced this week.
Fitchett, a midfielder on the men's soccer team, has accumulated a 3.73 grade point average as a marketing major at Lakeland.
The Green Bay native coupled his fine academic achievements with outstanding performance on the field in 2008.
Fitchett tied for the team lead with 13 goals and also registered five assists in 15 games played, propelling the Muskie offense to third in the Northern Athletics Conference in scoring.
Lakeland (8-7-2, 6-3-2 NAC) recorded its first winning record since 1994 and set a school record with 51 goals as a team

in one season.
Fitchett, who was one of three seniors on the team, adds this postseason honor to a list that includes a spot on the All-NAC first team and Division III All-Wisconsin team accolades.
