A pair of Lakeland wrestlers, junior Adam Sutter and senior Jonas Flok, have been ranked in the Top 10 of their respective weight classes by d3wrestle.com, as the Web site announced its latest individual rankings early last week.
Sutter is ranked ninth in the 285-pound weight class and is 12-2 on the season thus far. The Gladstone, Mich., native is also rated in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Brute-Adidas poll at No. 10.
"He always seems like he's in a competitive frame of mind - the guy can compete," Lakeland head coach Pete Rogers said. "When he steps onto the mat, he's one of those guys who can get it done in match-time situations. I believe in him more than probably anybody I've ever had here at Lakeland, as a person who can get it done."
An Egg Harbor native, Flok is ranked eighth in the 157-pound division and is 10-3 so far in the season. Flok split four matches at last Sunday's Desert Duals in Las Vegas, Nev.
"Jonas faced some tough competition, but still emerged 2-2 from the day," Rogers said. "One of the kids he beat is highly ranked in the 149-pound class."
The 27th-ranked Muskies (4-6) return to action on Jan. 3 at the Cornell Matman Invite. Matches begin at 2 p.m. in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
