Women's soccer team receives academic achievement

The Lakeland College women's soccer team has been named a recipient of the NSCAA Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
The award, given annually to teams with a grade point average of 3.00, includes both fall and spring semesters of a year. Therefore this award is for the 2007-2008 academic year.
Lakeland qualified by posting a 3.05 GPA in the 2007-08 school year. A total of 267 women's teams from the NCAA and NAIA earned the honor.
This is the first year a Muskie soccer team has received this award.
