Muskies fall to Concordia Minn. in first round of NCAA Tournament

In the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, the Muskies of Lakeland College would fall prey to Concordia Minn. three games to none.
The Muskies fell behind early after winning the first point of the game. The Cobbers of Concordia would prove they were there to play, and would shut down the Muskies in game one and would go on to a 30-18 win.
In Game two the Muskies took a 12-5 lead at one point, but the Cobbers would score seven strait to bring the match back in range, 13-12. Concordia would then blast a head of the Muskies taking a 18-16 lead and would not look back. The Cobbers would go on to defeat the Muskies in the second game as well, by a score of 30-23.
In the third game, the Muskies went down early, but would rally to be down by only one, at 12-11. The se-saw battle would continue, with the Muskies unable to take the lead. The Cobbers would finish off the Muskies in much the same fashion as the second game, defeating the Muskies 30-23.
“We knew coming in that our serving had to be better to win at this level” said Lakeland head coach Chad Schreiber, “unfortunately tonight the rest of our game was not where it needed to be to win.”
Leading the way for the Muskies was Lana Neuman who tallied 28 assists and nine digs. Heather Heberlein chipped in 11 kills, two digs and two blocks. Sarah Buechel added 21 digs in the losing effort for the Muskies.
With the loss, the Muskies finish with an overall record of 25-14.
