Three from Lakeland men's volleyball recognized by conference

Three members of the No. 4 Lakeland men's volleyball team have been recognized by the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference for their outstanding performances in the month of March.

Senior Joe Julkowski and junior Dan Judkins were named WVC Players of the Week for the week of March 23-29.

Julkowski, an outside hitter and team captain, led the Muskies to a second-place showing at the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Championship on March 28-29.

The Carol Stream, Ill., native posted 86 kills (.366 hitting percentage) and added 40 digs and nine blocks.

Judkins (Kaukauna), a right side hitter playing for the Lakeland JV team, tallied 11 digs, 10 kills (.600 hitting percentage) and two blocks in a three-set sweep over Northland Baptist on March 24.

Freshman setter Mitch Wiskirchen was named the league's Player of the Week for the week of March 9-15.

In a 25-15, 25-16, 25-21 victory over Carthage on March 10, the Schaumburg native tallied 11 assists and three digs. Two nights later, Wiskirchen registered 52 assists, eight digs and three blocks in a 25-14, 25-17,19-25, 28-30, 17-15 triumph over UW-Whitewater.
