KC Blahnik hit a pair of home runs Friday afternoon as the Lakeland College softball team took a pair of 7-0 and 14-1 games from Concordia Chicago to remain undefeated in Northern Athletic Conference play.

Blahnik (Gladstone, Mich.), the Lakeland batting leader with an average of .513 this season, hit a deep shot off the scoreboard in center field in the first Muskie at-bat to give the Muskies an early one run lead. Christina Moore (New London) doubled to drive in a second run to put Lakeland up two.

Chelsea Coenen (Wrightstown) hit her team-leading fifth triple in the second inning as two more scored and gave Lakeland  a 4-0 advantage after two.

The Muskies (19-5, 12-0) added another run in the third and a pair in the sixth before closing out the seven run victory.

Sara Roberts (Escanaba, Mich.) was dominant in the circle yet again for the Muskies. The junior threw seven shutout innings, giving up seven hits and no walks while striking out nine Cougar batters in picking up her 13th win of the season.

Coenen and Blahnik picked up a majority of the Muskie offensive numbers, combining for five runs and four RBI's.

The Lakeland offense was even more explosive in game two. After Concordia Chicago scored their lone run on the day, the Muskies put up six runs on five hits, knocking out Concordia pitcher Molly Muther after a third of an inning.

Lakeland pounded out seven more runs in the second inning, highlighted by a pair of two-run doubles as the Muskies took a commanding 13-1 lead.

Cassie Felton (Green Bay) picked up her fifth win of the season in the five inning game. She allowed two hits and two walks while giving up a solo run.

With the victories, the Muskies increase their win streak to 17 games, breaking the mark of the 1999 squad which stood at 15 games.

Lakeland returns to action Saturday with a home doubleheader against MSOE beginning at noon.
