Juniors KC Blahnik and Sara Roberts were named the Northern Athletics Conference softball Student-Athletes of the Week (position and pitcher) for the week of April 13-19.

Blahnik, a second baseman from Gladstone, Mich., hit an amazing .842 in five games this past week. She recorded 16 hits in 19 official at-bats as the Muskies' lead-off hitter and her four home runs and 16 runs scored were both a team-high.

She is first in the NAC with a .604 on base percentage and second in the conference with a .548 batting average. Her nine home runs tie her for first in the league and she leads the league with 43 runs scored.

Roberts, Lakeland's top starting pitcher, finished the week with a 3-0 record with victories against Alverno, Concordia Chicago and MSOE. She gave up zero runs in 17 innings pitched and struck out 21. Only 13 batters reached base in 65 at-bats.

Her earned run average of 2.02 is good for fourth in the league. She has struck out 66 batters on the season while compiling a 14-3 record. Her last loss was against Wesleyan on March 18 and she has won her last 12 starts as Lakeland is undefeated in its last 19.

The Muskies, 21-5 overall and 14-0 in the NAC, conclude the home portion of their schedule tomorrow with a doubleheader against Wisconsin Lutheran at 3 p.m. before ending the regular season this weekend in games at Maranatha, Rockford, Aurora and Benedictine.
