Blahnik named to CoSIDA All-District Academic First Team

Lakeland junior infielder KC Blahnik (Gladstone, Mich.) was named to the Softball CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V First Team, as announced by CoSIDA.

Blahnik broke five single-season individual Lakeland hitting records this year, setting new marks for hits, batting average, runs scored, and home runs. She led the NAC and was ranked third in the nation this season with a .524 batting average and also led the conference in on-base percentage (.605), runs (63), hits (66), home runs (11) and walks (25), and was second in slugging percentage (.905).

She averaged 1.28 runs per game this season, top in the country, and was also nationally ranked fourth in on-base percentage (.603), sixth for batting average, and was 10th in slugging percentage (.935).

This is her second CoSIDA academic honor this year, as she was also named first team in District V for basketball. Blahnik is now eligible for Academic All-American consideration.
