KC Blahnik Receives Third-Team Academic All-American Honors

Junior softball player KC Blahnik (Gladstone, Mich.) was named ESPN the Magazine Third Team Academic All-American as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Blahnik was eligible for the award after earning a spot on the First Team Academic All-District V team earlier this season

She broke five single-season individual Lakeland hitting records this year, setting new marks for hits, batting average, runs scored, and home runs. She led the NAC and was ranked third in the nation this season with a .524 batting average and also led the conference in on-base percentage (.605), runs (63), hits (66), home runs (11) and walks (25), and was second in slugging percentage (.905).

She averaged 1.28 runs per game this season, top in the country, and was also nationally ranked fourth in on-base percentage (.603), sixth for batting average, and was 10th in slugging percentage (.935).
