Lakeland kicker Nic Horstmeier was named Northern Athletics Conference special teams player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
The junior connected on a 40 yard field goal put Lakeland on the scoreboard to cap the Muskies' final drive of the first half.
"I'm proud of Nic and our entire kicking game," Lakeland head coach Kevin Doherty said. "He changes the dynamics of what we are able to do on offense. At that point late in the half, being able to score before halftime was a big morale boost."
The Muskies return to action Saturday, September 12 with a non-conference road game at Mount. St. Joe in Cincinnati, Ohio. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. (EST).
