Senior wide receiver Jacob Heinemeyer was named the Northern Athletics Conference student-athlete of the week for football (offense) for September 7-13, the league announced Monday night.
The Shiocton native caught five passes for a team-high 91 yards and and a pair of touchdowns in the second half last Saturday against Mount St. Joseph.
"We're proud of Jacob and what he brings to the team," Lakeland head coach Kevin Doherty said. "He had two really nice touchdown catches, one which he called himself. He came over to the sideline and suggested a play we could run to exploit their defense and it worked."
Heinemeyer leads all Lakeland players with 148.5 all-purpose yards per game and has 10 catches for 126 yards with three touchdowns on the season.
