Sophomore's Kristina Borts and Autumn Gaylor have been selected by the Northern Athletics Conference to the 2009 NAC women's soccer Honorable Mention team.
A midfielder, Borts (Milwaukee, Wis.) started in 18 of 19 contests and led the Muskies this season with five goals and contributed two assists. For her career she has scored a total of 11 goals and 10 assists in her two seasons.
"Kristi had to adapt to a new role in the central midfield this year and did well," Lakeland head coach Dave Madsen said. "As the season progressed she added a little more ball-winning ability to her game and was still able to be a big contributor on the offensive side of the field. I am looking forward to seeing how she will build off of this for next year.
Gaylor (Ingleside, Ill.), a defender, appeared in 17 matches this season for Lakeland. Her loan goal this season, the second of her career came in a 2-1 loss against Concordia Chicago on a ball that curved into the upper left corner of the net.
"Autumn had another strong year for us at central defender," Madsen said. "She is always a strong presence for us and our opponents had to work very hard to minimize her presence in our backline. Autumn was also a threat going forward for throw-ins, corner kicks and also scored a very nice goal."
In addition, senior Jessica Hopfinger was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
